Pick a point on Mandelbrot to see its Julia world. Enter picks the center.
A little field guide
Scroll or pinch to zoom toward a point. Drag to pan. Double-click to zoom in. Tap the canvas, then use + / − to zoom and arrow keys to pan.
Auto zoom follows neighborhoods with varied escape times and edges between dark and colored regions. It starts from your current view, pauses on manual navigation or when you leave the tab, and stops if no detail is found or the precision limit is reached. Color changes can continue during the tour. Sharing and exporting pause on the displayed frame.
Dark areas have not escaped after your chosen number of iterations. Increase Detail to resolve more structure. This is a finite numerical picture, not proof of membership.
Zoom is limited to 10¹²× to keep double-precision coordinates useful. Exports use the same center and horizontal span; a different aspect ratio reveals more or less vertically.
Saved discoveries stay in this browser, including their linked parameter map. Clearing site data removes them. Video records only the live main artwork; output format depends on browser support, and frame updates follow rendering speed. Leaving the tab stops and keeps the clip. Linked views use the same colors and detail; click or tap Mandelbrot to choose c, then explore its Julia set. In the linked parameter map, arrow keys adjust c and Enter selects its center.
Mandelbrot and Julia iterate z → z² + c. Mandelbrot starts at z = 0 and varies c; Julia varies z with fixed c. Burning Ship takes absolute values of both components before squaring.
